Data sources and attribution

Where the information on Browardly comes from, and the notices our data licenses require.

Where published facts come from

• Each business's own website: name, phone, address, hours and the services it states.
• Florida DBPR: public license records, used to check contractor and food-service licenses.
• Florida DFS: public license records, used to check insurance business licenses.
• Business owners: corrections and details they provide, moderated before they appear.

How we find businesses to check

Overture Maps Places: we use this open dataset to find businesses we may not have yet. A record there is only a lead: what we publish comes from the sources above. Its records carry these licenses:

• CDLA-Permissive-2.0: Overture Maps Foundation, Meta, Microsoft, BrightQuery, DAC, Uberall, Birdeye, RenderSEO, OpenTravel
• Apache-2.0: Foursquare
• CC0-1.0: AllThePlaces

Sources can be out of date or wrong, and appearing here does not mean any source endorses Browardly. Each listing states which checks were performed.
